Wie Ungarns Ministerpräsident Viktor Orbán am Donnerstag bekannt gab, plant die ungarische Regierung eine Teststrecke hauptsächlich für fahrerlose Fahrzeuge in Egersee (ung. Zalaegerszeg), der Hauptstadt des Komitats Zala, in Westungarn.
In seiner Rede anlässlich der Konferenz “Cars of the Future” an der Budapester Universität für Technik und Wirtschaft bezeichnete Orbán die Teststrecke als eine große Investition in die Zukunft, für die “ihresgleichen im Umkreis von 500 Kilometern von Ungarn nicht zu finden ist”.
Orbán wies zugleich darauf hin, dass die Regierung im nächsten Jahr die Mehrwertsteuer auf Internet-Dienstleistungen von 27% auf 18% reduzieren werde. Je nach BIP-Wachstum könne die Mehrwertsteuer ab 2018 weiter auf 5% reduziert werden, was für die digitale Technologiebranche einen deutlichen Wachstumsschub darstellen würde, so dass Ungarn und Mitteleuropa durch regionale Kooperation die “Gewinner bei der Digitalisierung” sein könnten.

TEST TRACK FOR SELFDRIVING CARS TO BE BUILT IN W HUNGARY
The government plans to build a test track for, primarily, driverless cars, in Zalaegerszeg, in western Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Thursday.
Speaking at the “Cars of the Future” conference at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Orbán called the test track a major investment, “the like of which cannot be found” within 500 kilometres of Hungary.
He noted that the government is planning to reduce the VAT on internet services to 18% from 27% next year. Depending on GDP growth, the VAT could be further reduced to 5% from 2018, which would give a significant boost to the digital technology industry, the prime minister said, adding that Hungary and central Europe could be the “winners of digitalisation” with regional cooperation.
